From Lake Tahoe
This land is truly inspiring, snow capped peaks surround placid Lake Tahoe, clear streams, sunny skies and pleasant breezes. The sparsely wooded hillsides are different from our eastern mountains. Everything is big and open, no lush, green, secure hollows like home.
Everyone is excited particularily after the race cancellation last year. I’ve bumped in to several friends from back east.
Predicted temp for the 5:00am start is 50, but by afternoon they are talking about highs of 98 in the canyons to the west…….but it’s a dry 98! Right
My excellent crew of Jody, Willie and Lara are ready as am I. We are preparing for supper, 3:00am will roll around soon. Thanks so much for all your well wishes.
