Rave Run

This past weekend, Bradley, J.L., Paul, Kavara, Gayle (Kavara’s mom) and I took in VA’s Shenandoah National Park. The Park was created in 1935 and bears many architectural resemblances to our parks here in The Mountain State thanks to the CCC workers. The main differences of Shenandoah are the breath taking views of the Shenandoah Valley compared to our more densely forested woods. Even though I saw more people on the trails than I’ve seen in my whole life in WV, it’s certainly worth the trip to run. (We actually saw more bears (#8) than I’ve seen people on the trails in WV this whole year!) We started on the Tuscarora Trail and ran into the Park, then covered the remaining majority of our 36+ miles on the AT. According to J.L.’s gps, the run covered just under 16,000 ft. of climbing. Definitely put Shenandoah National Park on your list of runs if you get the chance. Certainly an epic and beautiful run at any distance. Just don’t forget your climbing shoes!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Shouldn’t you be busy planning a little night run.
Yes I should, but I like to see how many irons I can keep in the fire.
