Aid Station #3 Wins Moonshine Madness Award

By proclamation of the Cheat Mountain Moonshine Madness runners, ”Tribal” aid station #3 captured the Aid Station Champion Award at the 50 mile race this weekend. RD Adam Casseday instigated this healthy competition causing some prerace smack and serious planning by aid station captians.
The competition was stiff but appreciative runners have spoken and settled the challenge. AS #4/6 captian Bill Potts was incredulous as he was certain they would be holding this 1st annual award.

I guess our torch lit entrance, warming bonfire, homemade soup and snacks, tribal music, and enthusiastic runner care is what runners recognized said AS #3 captian Dan Lehmann. We had a great time setting up the remote station on the banks of the Shaver Fork. Here Michelle, Steve and JL are getting ready for runners to arrive.

BOOOOOOO…. I don’t see how it is possible that a few tiki torches and baked goods won out over creativity and flawless execution. Hell they came through our station twice!
I heard the Cheat Mt. Drive-In Theater was a cool spot. Maybe Horton’s The Runner should have been on the marquee…or maybe not!
Now, now boys. No more trash talk until ’10! There was much pressure in deciding between AS 3, 2/7, and 4/6. I think each one of you paid off runners through the night with illegal methods. Lehmann must have just paid off a few more…or maybe just the louder ones.
I am going to take the middle ground here. Not wanting to upset any friends out there, but in my personal opinion, all of the aid stations were just great. They all shined whether they had tiki torchers or not. My thanks goes out to all of the aid stations for being just spectacular. I wanted for nothing all night long. Thank you to Adam and everyone else for a wonderful night in the woods. Rick
I have afeeling Rick works in DC. A very political answer.
