Highlands Trainer 4-10-10

Published by Dan Lehmann at 7:21 am under Running

The Highlands Sky 14 and 21 mile trainer yesterday, postponed from March, was the perfect day. Snow was gone save for a few drifts in the spruce shaded 4000′ ridges of Roaring Plains. Trail damage was not too bad considering the severe winter we experienced.  However a trail work day is scheduled for May 1 to clear the few blowdowns and other brush we encountered.

Fifteen runners came out including 11 year old Kristian Robinette who ran the 14 mile loop with his dad Kirk. Go here for more photos, and here for a video on Roaring Plains.

11 y.o. and running a very TOUGH 14 miles. . . Wow! Someone call up the Hooks family and we’ll have Christian and TJ go head to head. Now that would be a race! I’ll be the bookie.
    Absolutely amazing!
