Cheat Mt Moonshine Madness
The Madness through the moon light of Cheat Mt was as much fun for the volunteers last Friday night as it was for the runners, well at least until it was time to pack up. Some of us luck ones were heading back to the start by 3am while the three double stations were not through until the sun was peaking over Allegheny Mt.
There was again a healthy rivalry among aid stations to garner runners appreciation. Congratulations to Dan Todd and crew at #5 who took “best of show” with their Friday Night At The Movies aid station.

We all had a fun time with our own small parties as we waited the appearance of the sweeps.
See you at the next race where ever it might be.
The “healthy rivalry” of the aid stations is a great idea. It’s pretty amazing how you can be feeling pretty rough, then see something as simple as a tiki torch or hear a cow bell and then you automatically feel like sprinting. And when i was coming down stonecoal trail and saw Return of the Jedi playin on big screen in the middle of nowhere at 3:00am, I felt like running as fast as Luke Skywalker when he was riding the speeder bike on the forest moon of Endor. Great job Aid Stations!!!!!!!!!
As a runner, I love this aid station revalry. Every aid station is different and special. One thing in common is that all of the volunteers take amazing care of us. For three years now, they have given me more special attention than I deserve. My personal thanks goes out to each one of you!
