This year it was one of those January weeks when some of those degrees that went south in November crept back up to the mountains to see what was shakin’. This ocasionally happens and brings various feelings; an early taste of spring, a joyfull mid-winter reprieve, less than ideal skiing or snowshoeing, or a muddy mess. For the the handful that ran yesterday the smiles lead me to believe there was still plenty of fun and beauty enjoyed.

Matt Young will head up a trainer on the first half of the course on May 12, 2012. This is the tougher half and would be more worth your while experiencing. Meet at the Highlands Sky Start at the DNR Wildlife Cabin on Laneville Road. Go HERE for directions.

The loop run will be 21 miles, with an option to jump off at 14 miles.
