West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners

We are less than a month away from the 5th Annual Cheat Mountain Moonshin Madness 50M Trail Run.  I still need quite a few more volunteers for a couple of the aid-stations.  If you are interested in having a great time in the mountains, then come on out and support this club race and the runners brave enough to tackle it.

Congratulations to club member and board member, Adam Casseday, for winning the 2nd annual KT50K trail run.  Bethany Williams won the women’s title for the 2nd year in a row!

Location: Fayetteville Town Park

This 25k+ course leaves the Fayetteville Town Park and rolls on mountain bike trails out past Kaymoor Top and then down into the gorge.  It passes by old mine entrances, gushing waterfalls, and a spectacular view of the New River Gorge Bridge before a challenging climb back up to the Park.  With a total elevation gain of over 1500 feet this course will prove fast yet challenging!

The entry fees Kanawha Trace trail Runs will increase on July 8, 2012.  The late entry fee is $85 for the 50K and $30 for the 10K.  You can enter quickly and painlessly via Active.
