The Cheat Mt Moonshine Madness is a loop course with a total elevation gain/loss of 6300 feet over 50.0 miles.  There will be eight (8) aid stations. Drop bags will be available at Aid Stations 4 & 6.
Label your bag with name and bib number.

Start to AS 1  5.7 miles - on rolling back roads with 700’ climb.

AS 1 to AS 2  7.2 miles (mile 12.9) - continue climbing on Forest Service Rd 92 for 3 miles to crest of Cheat Mt, then south along the ridgeline. Elevation 4000'.

AS 2 to AS 3  4.9 miles (mile 17.7) -  now leave FS 92 onto Yokum Trail, to Turkey Trail to Crouch Trail.

AS 3 to AS 4  5.4 miles (mile 23.2) - Shavers Trail to right on Whitmeadow Trail. Climb to FS 92, turn left to AS 4 and drop bags. Crew access. Cutoff 3:00am, 6 hours.

AS 4 to AS 5  4.6 miles (mile 27.8) - continue south of FS 92 1 mile, turn left onto Stonecoal Trail.
Crew access.

AS 5 to AS 6  5.5 miles (mile 33.3) - head north along Shaver Fork to to Shavers Trail then Whitmeadow Rd, turn left and ascend to AS 6 and drop bags. Crew access. Cutoff 6:00am, 9 hours.

AS 6 to AS 7  3.8 miles (mile 37.1) - north on FS 92 along ridge.

AS 7 to AS 8  7.2 miles (mile 44.3) - north on FS 92 along ridge eventually descending to AS 8.
