Another Dirty Dog 15K is in the books. Dan Lehmann dragged butt back to Helvetia after help pace Adam Casseday to a 5th place finish at MMT100. He cleaned up the results and they are posted. Katie Wolpert took some photos are posted.
Congratulations to everyone who finished DD2009.

Those girls and boys and men and women will be on the run this May 9th on a new 5K course in Mill Creek, WV. We’d love to see lots of trail runners out there on the streets for a day. The race is open to anyone who wants to run (or walk) and volunteers are always welcome too, of course!
WVMTR will be timing the race and the club’s shiny-new finish line clock will be making it’s debut performance.

So, today’s random news link is a guy who decided to run across Ohio this month to commemorate Lincoln’s bicentennial. Naturally. You know, Lincoln, small-town Ohio, they are like peas in a pod. Plus, the guy likes the old courthouses in some of the Ohio counties.
OK, so I think his reasons are a bit kooky. It is possible though, that he just felt that he needed an “excuse” for a run across a state (something that’s always been on my Life To-Do List), in which case more power to him. And, if you happen to live on or near his route, go join him as he passes through. Enjoy!

WVMTR was represented at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration by two club members that work in the district, Michelle Price and Megan Carroll. They were sporting their Patagonia club jackets to shield them from the elements. They rode there bikes to the Washington Mall and avoided the mess on the Metro. Even though the change in power was taking place about a mile away they had front row seats in front of the jumbo-tron. It looks like good planning allowed them to watch history on January 20th unlike many who never got to use their “Golden” tickets.
