Want to break the cabin fever and get in a good long run?  Well if so, come join me and Dan this Saturday (2/20) for a 20-25 mile run on some snow-covered roads around Beverly.  We’ll start at my house around 9 am and if you’re interested in this fun run, just drop me an e-mail (dr_casseday@yahoo.com).

Runs with the Dogs

This 15k trail run is a challenging mix of single track mountainous trail and unimproved dirt road. The course includes two long climbs and several sections of rolling ridge lines. There are rocks, roots and wet stuff. Your “dogs” will get dirty! Aid stations stocked with water (for humans and canines) and sport drink (humans only) will be located at mile 2.2, 4.7, 6.5 and the finish. A selection of fruit and baked goods will replenish you at the finish. Lots of prizes for people and their dogs!

RUN WITH THE DOGS: Registered runners may run with their dogs during the race. Dogs and their runners must start in the back. Dogs must be on a leash for the first mile and stay within eyesight of the runner for the WHOLE race. Special Award to the Top Dog! Continue Reading »

RESCHEDULED

The snowpack above 4000′ measures 48″, not too runnable. This is a training run not a big hike so the date is now April 10. Surely it will be better……

Here it is January 5 and the snow is piled up 3′ deep and the temp is 12.9 on my fancy digital thermo-meter, but come  March 27 by golly it just might be gone. Come out to Roaring Plains and Dolly Sods for a training run on the first half of the Highlands Sky course.

March 2009 Trainer

We will start at the official Highlands Start at Laneville at 8:00am. There will the option for a 21 mile loop that will cover most of the first half of Highlands, or a 14 mile loop that covers a little less. You can find directions on the Highlands Sky page. Let me know if you are coming please irunwv@gmail.com
