The 5th Annual CMMM 50-Mile Trail Run is now open for entry.  Please visit the race page for more details.

Matt Young will head up a trainer on the first half of the course on May 12, 2012. This is the tougher half and would be more worth your while experiencing. Meet at the Highlands Sky Start at the DNR Wildlife Cabin on Laneville Road. Go HERE for directions.

The loop run will be 21 miles, with an option to jump off at 14 miles.

Kanawha Trace 50K/10K Trail Run date has been set for July 28^th, 2012.

Updates for 2012.

-         Chip timing for 50K/10K

-         Port-a-Potty’s at the Starting line.

-         Two new foot bridges built at Cabell creek and Bear Hollow.

-         KT markings on road- More volunteers at crucial transition areas.

-         Ribbion hanging throughout the trail for easier navigation, along with normal KT marking on every other tree.

-         Finish line will finish in the amplitheater

-         50K finishers will receive a special Boyscout KT medal designed only for the race.

Only the hearty roll out for this one. A small group last February, but there have been years with 25 or more. Check out details here, then mark the date on your calendar. It will break those mid-winter blues!

Highlands Trainer 2011

There will be a training run on the first half of the course on Saturday March 31, 2012. Hopefully we won’t see weather like last year’s freak storm.

Meet at the Laneville Start at 8:00am. The first half loop will be 21 miles, or choose to bail at the 14 mile option. For directions to the start go to the Highlands Details page HERE.

Mark your calendar for the the second Saturday in January. This will be our 10th, a long trail since that snowy January in 2003 when six met to form this organization. We’ll have a morning run, lunch and meeting in Helvetia.

Bring your cold weather running gear, good spirit, and something for the lunch table. There is plenty of floor space for over-nighters. Let me know if you are coming so I can have a food and beverage head count. irunwv@gmail.com

Mark you calanders. We will be doing a loop of the Frozen Sasquatch course on November 19th 2011. The loop is 15.5 miles and there are shorter options if you want to cut out early. Anyone interested in checking out the course before raceday, or just want to come out for a group run, we will start 10 am. Check out the race page for details.

There is a new WVMTR race coming in March called “Haulin’ in the Holler”. This race will include a 25k and 5k trail race as well as kids runs in Putnam County Park in Eleanor, WV. The 25k and 5k races will begin at 8:30 A.M., March 24, 2012.
