Canaan Valley Resort is offering group rates for single or double occupancy rooms of $79 a night plus taxes. The buses leave from here to the Start Saturday morning at 5:00am. The finish is back at the Resort. Here is the link for lodging reservation.
Cabins and campsites are available on the park very near the lodge where activities will take place. The reservable sites can fill fast, have all hookups, are pricey at $27/night and I believe you must take 2 nights on the weekend. Timberline Ski Resort is offering two levels of accommodations for race weekend; luxury rooms and suites at the Slopeside Hotel and economy lodging at the Sitzmark Bunkhouses. Timberline is a 10 minute drive from Canaan Valley State Park where the busses leave Saturday morning for the Start.
Special rates for Highlands Sky Weekend at the Slopeside Hotel are discounted from those shown on the link below. Four person rooms with 2 double beds are $69 a night plus taxes, Family and Expanded rooms sleeping six or eight are $99 a night plus taxes. The Sitkmark Bunkhouse is more in line with scout camp, spartan and efficient. You must bring your own bedding or sleeping bag and towels. Total cost is $16.80 a night. Timberline is also offering discounted ski lift tickets for friends and family to ride to the top of Dolly Sods where they can see the runners at mile 34. Lift tickets are $5 and are available to any race friends regardless where they are lodging.
Cabins and Campsites and Lodge Rooms are also be available at Blackwater Falls State Park near Davis. This park is 10 miles north of Canaan Valley State Park where buses leave Saturday morning for the Start.
Pitching a tent is permitted anywhere off road in the Monongahela National Forest, 300′ off road in Wilderness Areas.
