Snowflake 50k

January 3, 2009   8:00am

Kanawha State Forest - Charleston, WV

Your first ultra of 2009! No fee, no shirt, just two 15.5 mile loops

up and down the chilly hills of Kanawha State Forest.

The Snowflake 50k, started by Dennis Hamrick in December 1997, ran it's last snowflake in 2005. It was a low key event with a faithful following. In 2006 and 2007 local runners kept the race alive as FA. Now Mike Dolin has offered to take on the event. The Snowflake returns with WVMTR support and the generous sponsorship The North Face.

The course remains the same with aid stations at 5, 10 and 15.5 miles. Routine ultra fare will be available including Hammergel and HEED. There will be a pot of hot soup at the finish to warm your bones.

Prizes to 1st male and female 50k finishers plus drawings for North Face gear.
